Cahoots Theatre Projects in association with Teesri Duniya Theatre Present: "Bhopal"
Labelled the "Hiroshima of the chemical industry", the 1984 gas leak at the Union Carbide pesticide factory in Bhopal, India released nearly 40 tons of toxic chemicals into a city of one million people. Almost 20 years later, tens of thousands of victims and survivors of the world's largest industrial disaster still await justice. The perpetrators, however, walk free.

"Bhopal" is a rich, complex play exploring the human and political reality behind this disaster.

Greenpeace launches Boreal forest campaign
CLEARCUTTING CANADA'S LEGACYIn September, Greenpeace launched a campaign to save Canada's ancient Boreal forest at the World Forestry Congress in Quebec City. Campaigners released an important new report, negotiated with delegates and staged peaceful direct actions in a bid to save one of the world's last remaining ancient forests.

Greenpeace blocks shipment of GE canolaLast week, Greenpeace activists prevented the loading of a shipment of genetically engineered canola in Vancouver. The climbers suspended themselves from the cranes of the ship with signs saying 'Biohazard: GE Export'.

Russia must ratify the Kyoto Protocol
Russia must ratify the Kyoto Protocol Greenpeace activists delivered giant pens to Russian embassies around the world this week to remind Russian President Vladimir Putin to ratify the Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change. Once Russian ratifies the international agreement on climate change it will enter into force, compelling member countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
