Mark has a proven track record of conceptualizing, overseeing
and executing complex projects in a number of environments.
Between 1991 and 1995, Mark was the Chief Aide for British Entrepreneur
Anita Roddick of The Body Shop International, a retailer that
trades in forty-seven countries. Mark comes from a background
as filmmaker on such series as Millennium: Tribal Wisdom and
the Tribal World and the BBC's The Human Animal with Desmond
Morris. More recently, Mark has worked at all levels of planning
and implementing HJC's web sites for clients such as The Body
Shop Canada, Greenpeace Canada, North York Branson Hospital,
and many others.
Mark is an effective campaigner. Between
1993 and late 1995, Mark was one of the UK coordinators of
the worldwide Ogoni campaign. He linked non-governmental agencies
like Amnesty International and Greenpeace together during
this time, and helped raise awareness about what was happening
to the Ogoni at the hands of the Nigerian dictatorship and
multinational oil interests. While in England, Mark honed
his fundraising skills by working as a coordinator with charities
for fundraising events.
