As Online Campaigns Director
with HJC New Media, George has overseen the development and
deliivery of advocacy, mobilization and fundraising campaigns
for organizations as diverse as Greeenpeace, Amnesty, Oxfam
and Canada's New Democractic Party. George
also leadsthe development
of two web-based services: nonprofitlearning.com,
an educational resource offering online professional development
courses to
nonprofits, and nonprofitmatrix.com,
a web portal providing vital information on new ASP and
Portal services for the nonprofit
sector.
George's background is in media and
communications, and he has previously worked for CBC Television,
primarily with The Nature of Things science/environment
documentary series. George also brings experience from
the international
development
community,
where he
has
served as board
member and
projects offcer for organizations working in Asia,
Africa and Latin America.
George is active in the new
media research community as an associate of the byDesign
eLab, which
emerged from the McLuhan Program at University of Toronto.
